Synopsis: Ms. Walsh’s presentation will provide an overview on:
~ Patents: how to monopolize your inventions and maximize your markets for the price of public disclosure
~ Trademarks: how to identify and protect your brand in the marketplace
~ Copyrights: the letter © and how to prevent unauthorized copying of engineering drawings, computer software, maps, manuals, photographs, and other original works
~ The role of employee agreements and trade secrets in protecting intellectual property
~ Costs, timelines, and other factors to considering when deciding whether or not to register intellectual property
Presentation 2 Tender Law Update
Presenter: Geoffrey Connolly, EIT, LLB, Stewart McKelvey
Synopsis: The presentation will be an overview of Law relating to Tendering including:
~ Contract A vs. Contract B;
~ The Duty of Fairness;
~ The Duty of Care; and
~ Privilege Clauses, and SCC decision in Tercon, February 12, 2010
