| Scholarship for Children of Engineers PEI Members | | February 11, 2010 |
Engineers PEI Council is pleased to announce that it will offer four $500 scholarship to children of members of Engineers PEI who are enrolled in Engineering Studies.
“This scholarship is not based on needs or grades, it is one of the ways that the Association is trying to give back to its members”, said Engineers PEI President Mark Victor. “Unlike other scholarships, this scholarship is not limited to a certain year - students enrolling to first year University as well as those entering its fifth year would be eligible.”
Winners would be selected by a random draw. Students have submit an application form which can be obtained from the website or from the Association office.
Scholarship Details:
Eligibility: Open to sons and daughters of members in good standing of Engineers PEI, who are enrolled in Engineering studies at any recognized University. For greater clarity and for the purposes of this scholarship, “members” do not include the categories of Engineers-In-Training or License to Practice. Awards: Four (4) awards of $500 each will be given annually. The Awards are non-renewable.
Criteria: The Awards will be selected in a random Draw immediately following the close of application. Award winners will be selected by the Student Chapter Committee. The decision of the Student Chapter Committee will be final. Winners will be required to submit proof of Registration in an accepted Engineering program in order to receive the Award. Each applicant receives ONE (1) Ballot.
Applicants who had received this scholarship from previous years would be eligible for the award only if there are insufficient first time winners at the time of the drawing.
Applications: To ensure that the student has completed the necessary education requirements for admission to university, applications will not be accepted prior to June 1. Applications must be received by Engineers PEI by August 30.
