| Consultation Report on Sustainable Development - June 2006 | | Posted: September 27, 2006 |
In a second collaborative effort, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) worked with four other federal government departments to hold co-ordinated consultations in Atlantic Canada. ACOA would like to acknowledge this valuable collaboration and partnership with Environment Canada, Industry Canada, Natural Resources Canada, and Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
A key element in developing a sustainable development strategy is to hold consultations with stakeholders to understand their needs in the area of sustainable development and to obtain information on related issues and challenges. The five partner departments would like to thank the many people who assisted us in conducting these consultations. Their co-operation has made this report possible, and we are grateful for their input as well as their candor. Their names appear in Appendices C to F.
Finally, we would like to thank the luncheon speakers who graciously gave their time to share their experiences and expertise in the field of sustainable development: Paul Antle, President and CEO, Island Waste Management Inc.; Dana Atwell, Director of Environmental Affairs, Nova Scotia Power; Nick Bayne, President and CEO, the Maricor Group, Maine & Maritimes; and Mark Victor, Project Manager, PEI Wind-Hydrogen Village Project.
